PBS datastore backup on CIFS share via rsync

Hi all,
I'm running the Proxmox Backup Server via Debian on a VM.

• My Proxmox-Server is doing an encrypted backup to PBS
• I would like to backup the Datastore-folder (the one with the .chunks .gc-status .lock vm folders inside)
• Backup destination is a CIFS/SMB storage on a Synology NAS, so I might lose some informations (e.g. permissions) - is this a problem?
• Backup will be a cronjob with "rsync -a --delete /mnt/pbs /mnt/backup"

Will this be enough for doing a restore, even with a new PBS installation?

Yes, but I would also rsync the /etc/proxmox-backup folder for the PBS config files. And mak sure you never lose your encryption key.
