Why is the PBS community edition 5x the cost of a VE license?

Because with one Proxmox Backup Server instance you can cover dozens of Proxmox VE instances.
We do not think so, especially when having in mind all the features provided, no limits placed upon neither client count, backup count nor data usage, the first class integration in Proxmox VE, and, depending on the subscription level, enterprise support provided.
