I want to switch from a static IP to DHCP. The recommended way to do this is to edit /etc/network/interfaces and replace iface <networkdevice> inet static with iface <networkdevice> inet dhcp
But when I do this, I will not receive a DHCP address and I can see the following error message in systemctl status networking: No such file or directory: "/sbin/dhclient"
But I can get a dhcp address by manually executing dhcpd
Is this a bug, that /sbin/dhclient is missing? Or is this intended and I should just install it? I'm on PBS 4.0.16
And before everyone tells me that DHCP is not recommended for a server: This is true in general, however in this scenario I want to distribute a bunch of backup servers all over the world and connect to them via tailscale. Therefore they need DHCP because I don't know the network configuration of the offsite in advance. And since I distribute quite a lot, I don't care if one fails.
