[SOLVED] Pass OMV vms to Plex

I've run OMV in a Proxmox VM for about 18 months. It had Plex inside. The whole VM got backed up using PBS. However, that was backing up everything from the VM, and half of it I'm not so bothered about, and I wanted some of the space on the PBS for other stuff. I've just rebuilt my main Proxmox and this time I have two OMV vms, one of which I will back up and the other I won't.

This means I want Plex outside of the VM so I've added it as a container using the helper script. This is all well and good but I can't figure out for the life of me how I tell Plex about the VMs. Can anyone help? The Plex interface itself is no help, unless I'm missing something, so I'm assuming the solution is based on configuring the container?

I've been using Proxmox for 18 months but I haven't had an awful lot to do on it (it's good like that, it just works :D) and what I have done is follow Youtube videos. I've gleaned a bit but essentially I am not much more than a beginner so please be as clear as you can.

When you had Plex running inside of the OMV VM, Plex was effectively accessing the local drive(s).

Now to access those drives from outside of the VM, you will have to share disks which hold the library via SMB or NFS share, so you'll need to seek tutorials on sharing drive from OVM and then once you have that working then you can lookup how to access the share from a LXC container. It's worth looking into this as it's the basics of setting up a NAS.

I hope that will at least point you in the right direction.
