[P] Spice connection fails: "Verbindung zu libvirt mit URI [keine] konnte nicht herge

Hi,

I'm facing a problem using SPICE.
This is independant of the browser (tested with Firefox and Chromium), and independant of the OS in the guest.

The error message on the screen says:
"Verbindung zu libvirt mit URI [keine] konnte nicht hergestellt werden"

To get some more details, I've startet virt-viewer in CLI:

I had the same problem with virt-viewer. In my download of virt-viewer, there was a "remote-viewer.exe", which is working in my case...

Then you should remove ".exe".
(remote-viewer is contained in the package of virt-viewer of e.g. Mint etc.)

1. I have installed package virt-viewer from Debian repository
2. I fear you are serious about removing .exe from the executable. I have no intention to follow this recommendation.

Is there anybody who could contribute to the root cause analysis?
I have provided the debug output... what else is required?

I think, you didn't get me...

The debian-package (virt-viewer), or the ubuntu-package, or linux-mint-package etc., contains:

/usr/bin/remote-viewer   <-- !
/usr/bin/virt-viewer 
/usr/share/applications/remote-viewer.desktop   <-- !
/usr/share/doc/virt-viewer/AUTHORS
...and more ...

The man-page for remote-viewer stated:

NAME
       remote-viewer - a simple remote desktop client

SYNOPSIS
       remote-viewer [OPTIONS] URI

DESCRIPTION
       remote-viewer is a simple remote display client. The supported
       protocols are SPICE and VNC.

In Linux-Mint (which is ubuntu, therefore debian, based) the *remote-viewer* is the default-desktop app for interpreting the file you mentioned, to have a *console/remote desktop*
to a VM regardless, if the VM is using a graphical user interface or a command-line.

Because you mentioned firefox, I thought you are interested in a desktop-app from the virt-viewer package, which could be used for the console->spice menu entry for a vm-entry.

Hi,
witch version of virt-viewer you are using?

0.5.6 is necessary.
Debian wheezy has only 0.5.3 in repro.

I'm using exactly the same version on another PC without any issues.
