I have an opnsense router in the home configured where I can assign the mac address of the machine to the devices I want to be connected to a (surfshark) VPN. And I if assign the mac address of either a physical machine or a Proxmox VM it will work correctly and show the correct VPN address.
But If I assign the mac address of an LXC container, that container will actually 'go offline' and will not even ping google or any other site. Remove the mac address from the VPN, and it goes back online.
Is there anything special that needs to done to setup a VPN with an LXC container? It seemed to work fine with a Windows VM mac address assigned to opnsense. But not with a container.
