OpenVZ container backup using snapshot method always have error

When trying to backup an OpenVZ container using SNAPSHOT method, I always encounter a bunch of errors (see log below).
But using STOP mode works great.
And I read somewhere that snapshot only works with LVM2 type storage?
All our containers are on 'directory' type of storage.

I just want to make sure that is the problem, before I go change many nodes to LVM2.

Can somebody help confirm this?

For openvz, the FS need to run on top of a LVM device to make snapshots.

I spent a few hours last night converting from 'directory' storage type to 'lvm group' storage type.

Now, OpenVZ backup using Snapshot method works perfectly.
