Ports are open in PVE until you enable Firewall.
If you have a router with NAT you need to redirect port from within your router.

Further, please note that Proxmox Backup Server does not come with a build in firewall, so opening ports depends on what firewall solution you are using. Last but not least, it is not recommended to expose neither Proxmox Virtual Environment hosts, nor Proxmox Backup Server hosts directly to the internet, rather use a VPN solution for remote management.
What are you trying to achieve exactly? This port is not related to any services of the Proxmox Backup Server.

Both PVE and PBS are securely located behind a firewall and will not be exposed to the wild. As for the agent looks like it wasn't running and now that it is the port is showing as open or active. What I am trying to do is get PBS to report in to Prometheus server for monitoring using Grafana but having a problem getting it to work. I have PVE reporting in but I don't remember how to get this to work.
