I have found that when it brings items over the sockets and core are backwards
I have items setup with 2 sockets and 3 core converted it over and this is how it turned out.
I found this out when I had one say 10 sockets and only 2 core, when it said max was only 4 sockets. Start looking and found that all of them where like this.
Something to look at for the team.
For me just turned off the devices and switched them and then turned on.

can you post the vmx file from the esxi side? there is usually a 'coresPerSocket' config that we use to deteremine that
so cpus = 8 & coresPerSocket = 8 => socket: 1, cores: 8

also i'l move the trhead into the correct subforum

Unfortunately I can't as I have already finished the conversions and completely wiped my esxi servers. It was an easy fix for me, but an observation just to allow you to verify and possible fix if it was in the convertor an issue.
