Hi all — first time posting.
I’ve been running a Proxmox setup for about six months now. My hardware was a Gigabyte 870X, AMD 9550 3DX, 64GB RAM, and an RTX 3060 — all working flawlessly.
I’ve recently upgraded the GPU to an RTX 5070 Ti and that’s when the fun stopped. If I put the 3060 back in, everything works perfectly again.
Main issue:
With the 5070 Ti installed, any VM I start just gives me a black screen. With the 3060 it works as expected.
Even creating a brand-new VM doesn’t help — I don’t even see the Proxmox BIOS/OVMF splash screen. After a lot of digging, I found a suggestion to untick ROM-bar. Doing that kind of works: no loading or boot screen, but eventually the VM drops me at the login prompt and everything runs fine from there. NVTop also shows the RTX 5070, so the card is being passed through and recognised.
I’ve also tried a completely fresh Proxmox install just to rule things out — same result.
Has anyone seen this before or know what might be going on?
