Hello to everyone.
Till a few weeks ago I had a HP ML350p gen8 server with the actual Proxmox version 8.2.2 and a working GPU passthrough of an NVIDIA GTX 1070 with a Windows 10 VM.
Because I had the opportunity to switch from a gen8 to a gen9 server I started this new project.
I moved the GPU in the new server and made all settings from the “PCI(e) Passthrough Proxmox guide” and the “HPE ML/DL server series PCI/GPU passthrough - PVE8” tutorial as I have done it for the gen8 server.
I installed my Windows 10 VM new with the same settings from the old working one, installed all updates and NVIDIA drivers.
The VM is starting but the monitor connected to the NVIDIA goes black when Windows starts the NIDIA driver.
In Windows I can see in the hardware section the error 43 for the NVIDIA GPU.
As long as Windows is using the “Standard Display Driver” I can see the picture on the monitor through the NVIDIA GPU.
I read several posts in this forum, other forums and tested a lot but without success.
The Passthrough is working with a Linux Ubuntu VM, so it could not be a problem with the hardware. I tested a second identical GPU too, but both worked in the old server.
I also think it's more related to the BIOS settings. I've tried a lot here, but nothing worked.
Maybe I'm missing already something here because I'm just really frustrated now.
Maybe there is someone here with an HP Gen9 server who has a working GPU passthrough and can share the BIOS settings with me.
Thanks
Manfred
