NOOB backup questions to Synology iSCSI

Hey everyone,

First time using PVE and loving it so far. I've created a Home Assistant VM and managed to add an additional 64GB storage drive to the PVE environment using a Synology iSCSI target so pretty chuffed so far . Questions are:

1. What are the steps available to make the iSCSI drive available to the Home Assistant instance for backup as I'm only seeing the local option at the moment?
2. I understand that I cannot create snapshots to that iSCSI target. Is that true?
3. If 2 is true, is it possible to transfer a local snapshot to that iSCSI target?

You will probably be better off with NFS. If you want to use iSCSI as a directory you have to add and format it yourself and then add it as directory storage and you will not be able to share it between nodes.
