Hi,

I am having problems with audio output from a VM in Proxmox. I am accessing the VM from the same machine it is running on. To allow that I have installed XFCE and Chromium on the Proxmox server and can access videos on the internet with sound output from Chromium directly on the Proxmox server. However, when viewing videos from within the VM (which is running Linux Mint) it produces no sound output. In Proxmox under hardware the VM has:

Display

Spice Dual Monitor (qxl2) Memory = 16MB ( Dual Monitor set up works fine with VM)

Audio Device

Device = intel-hda, driver = spice

Under Options I have QEMU guest agent enabled. Type Virtl0

I can connect to the VM using spice from the Proxmox Server and can view video but with no audio output. On the VM under sound settings it shows two devices: speakers and line out ( both of which are High definition Audio Controllers (QEMU Virtual Machine). Does anybody have any suggestions? I am brand new to Proxmox and relatively new to linux. Any help would be appreciated. Please bear in mind I am quite new to this so you may need to dumb down your explanation. One thing that does strike me is should there be some kind of virtual device under sound setting redirecting the sound output the the spice remote

Regards
