Hi,

Trying to set up a small homelab on a laptop, everything was fine with Proxmox baremetal install, and then creation of two LxC.
Started to play a bit and realised I have no "pve" folder in /etc/ in both containers.

Is this normal?

Setup:
- Proxmox VE 8.3.2
- Ubuntu 22.04 template
- 1 HDD for now in the laptop

and here the content of /etc/ as an example of one LxC:

Thanks in advance,

Why would you expect a /etc/pve/ directory inside a container? Only if you install (a nested) Proxmox VE in a Debian container, it would have that. Containers share the Linux kernel with the Proxmox host but not the filesystem.

Thanks, makes sense now.
I was trying to install a package with snap but got an error. Unique solution was to edit the container configuration file which was expected to be in /etc/pve/lxc/...

I guess best is to use a different way of install...

It's not clear what you are trying to do and what error you got exactly.

The container configuration file is on the Proxmox host which should have a /etc/pve/lxc/ directory, but that is only reachable from the Promox host (console or ssh).

If you explain what you are trying to achieve or the errors you encounter, maybe people here can help. "Started to play a bit" and "trying to install a package with snap" is not specific enough, sorry.

Sure, no worries, I was expecting to create a separate thread with all details.

Thanks a lot for your fast replies!
