So I won one in a contest (yay) and I'm using it to piddle around.

It has 6 eth ports & an iLO. Neat.

Proxmox installs ok, but has NO network connectivity.

I can't pull dhcp addresses from the netgear router in the house where I'm setting it up.

But an ubuntu live cd will. As will ubuntu server full install.

I'd rather use proxmox and make VM's tho.

Any thoughts??

Hi,

congratulations! :)

I guess that neither the Proxmox ISO nor the Debian Jessie installer brings drivers for these NICs.
I haven't got much experience with the Proxmox Installer, but if you want to try to install Debian Jessie first, maybe during the installation there is the possibility to load additional drivers. Here you can take a look at the driver packages you probably need.
Loading additional drivers during installation is a little bit tricky - just give it a try!
But an ubuntu live cd will. As will ubuntu server full install.
That's possible, because Ubuntu is much less restrictive in choosing what drivers should be in the default package repositories.

Good luck and greets
Stephan

I don't *think* it's missing drivers b/c it will bring up vmbr 0/1/2/3/4/5, and on the dhcp set ones searches for an address. Maybe an driver that's wonky tho?

I'll try jessie later and see. This machine is at a friends house, so I have go there to work on it until I can get it online.
