Hi,

today I installes Proxmox 5.1 VE on my Dell Server Poweregde R720.

Before Promox, Ubuntu LTS was running on this system without issues.

After the Installation, both NICs (same Chipset) have no connection. iDrac says Cable is attached, but I got no-carrier on the ip a command. ethtool and mii-tool are not installed.

Our NIC are from Broadcom and using the tg3 both.

Has anyone a idea where is problem is? Physical connection is definitve working.

Hmm..

In Debian 9 on a Live System or Installer, the nic doesn't work, too. We choosed Live CD with nonfree

After installing the Debian, the connection should be fine.

So it might be an issue in proxmox itself.

Are you using the latest PVE iso? The tg3 module is included in the kernel.
