Hi, I a have setup an NFS Share on my TrueNAS server and am trying to mount it in my proxmox host (node). I can't seem to get proxmox to mount the NFS as any user other than root.

My TrueNAS NFS share is configured with ACL permissions to allow specific user/group with assigned UID. I tried creating a new user in proxmox with the same UID as TrueNAS and specifying the mount with that user but still get denied due to permissions. The only way I can get my NFS share to mount is if I select Maproot or Mapall to the user in TrueNAS with proper ACL permissions, but this creates issues later with mounts into LXCs and is not as secure. Is it possible to mount to an NFS share in proxmox node under a different UID?

In general a unix mount is a root task. There could be cd/dvd, usb-stick mounts allowed to do as user by sudo or desktop tools.
When mount is etablished it depends to mounted dir rights who has access which mostly isn't not root.
So I would recommend for you to go back to the basics, remove acls, etablish the mount, be aware to be able to access as user and not as root (it depends what is wished). After that is working apply back the additional acls and resolve their maybe missetting. Good luck.
