Hello!

As the title suggest - brace yourself with patience, as I'm not very good with networking.
I will also include the solutions to my problems I found on the internet, so hopefully someone else can benefit from this post too.

I tried to consult Chat GPT and searched the fourums a bit, but I'm still lost.
I'd like to setup a proxmox server at my girflieds place to improve privacy and self-host a number of services.

So far I have built a simple 10 inch rack, which has:
Fiber Box X6 router from interent provider - Salt (fiber input, one 10G ethernet and 4 1G enthernets)
HP EliteDesk 800 G4 DM 65W (upgraded with aliexpress 5G elthernet instead of Wifi)

The mini PC and router is connected with the high speed ethernet. I also tried connecting the second ethernet in addition as suggested on some forums, but it changed nothing.

On the mini PC i have adguard and several other containers (home assistant, jellyfin ...)
All setup exclusively with helper scripts (cudos to how awsome those are!)

On the router I have setup DNS for the adguard (which required finding a hidden setting at: http://192.168.1.1/2.0/gui/#/mybox/dns/server - also restart the router after changing settings)

So at this point, proxmox GUI is reliably working and also adguard (although I'm not sure all clients are connected to it. If I have set first DNS to adguard and second to nothing - i suppose default google, are requests sent in paralel or is it arbitary? WOuld be shame if it is bypassing the filtering)

As for the other containers, they are sometimes acessible...
When i sart the mini PC, sometimes IP is missing in the command line status, but I still see the container connected in the router overview.
Sometimes I can reach the IP, sometimes not. Now it seems most of the time I cannot reach anything other than proxmox GUI and adguard.

I tried reserving the IP adresses on the router side - no change
I tried entering the IP settings with help of chat-gpt into the container networking settings (not sure how correct), but again to no change.

When I was trying the setup out at my place with my router, I didn't have such problems, but I was just trying the proxmox out - not even set the DNS.

What was sugessted by chat-gpt is to turn off IPv-6 on the router, but I don't think that's even an opion.

As you see, I'm properly lost at this time and I could very much use a help of someone experienced.
I would be extremely grateful for anyone, who takes the time. :)

I'm sorry to not provide more info, but I'm not sure what could be usefull.

PS: The HP mini PC has one caviat with proxmox, which causes it ro restart after like half a minute of running, when no display adapter is plugged in. Follow this thread to fix: https://www.reddit.com/r/Proxmox/comments/g0bavj/proxmox_needs_monitor_plugged_in_to_boot/
