Hello,

we have since a long time an 2012r2 Servertemplate that we uses for rollouts. We have 2 VMs, one to edit, and one that we make sysprep.

So in the new PVE Version 4.3 there is also EFI Disk available. For changing the BUS from Virtio to VirtioScsi i must reinstall the server. So my question, make it sence to use the EFI BIOS with the EFI disk? Or is this nonsense.

Thanks

you don't need to reinstall. add a second disk with virtio-scsi (small 1G disk for example), add the driver in windows, delete the disk, then change your primary disk to virtio-scsi.

The question is, why do you need efi ? AFAIK, this is mostly needed for gpu pci passthrough.

Yes i know that, but for 2 year i have done this once, and this time it is not posible anymore, only a bluescrreen.

I don't know, i've seen the new efidisk and must reinstall the template. SoI would not forget anything. You mean that is needed for gpu passthrough. This is an topic for us in the future. Do you know is this only for windows OS or for linux too?

Thanks
