Hello, not sure where this question specifically goes, if it is in the wrong place please move.
I am currently looking to build a new server using proxmox. I am not looking for a storage server as I have 2 Synology NASes already. I am wanting to build an beginner "AI server". I am not sure how to do this or which models I would use at this time but eventually I would like to use something like Ollama to designed .stl 3D print models.
Additionally, I might use this to run Plex (but not using it for video storage since I have that on other NASes, I would just map a drive) as well as a Tdarr node and maybe a Windows VM.
At this point the only thing I know for sure is that it is recommended that I should use proxmox and get up to at least 24gb of VRam.
Currently I have some spare parts, two 3090 Nvidia GPS, about 8 or so 6 TB hard drives (3.5 size).
Was thinking of doing something like this, but not sure what all I need:
-Ryzen 9 7900X or 7950X CPU
-32GB DDR 6000 CL30
-MSI MAG 850W A850GL Toughpower PF3 850W (probably need bigger to run 2 GPUs).
-Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
-ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi DDR5
I would prefer to use a server case but if it is just too expensive I am fine with a PC case.
I also not sure if I need to use any SSDs or NVM cache.
Any help would be much appreciated.
