Hi i'm new on proxmox.
I installed proxmox on my second laptop (lenovo thinkpad l430) then i start it and log in, then reboot it and log in again, go to next room to get wired connection to my router. My main laptop i connected by wifi to the same router. I try to connect to web GUI via "https://192.168.100.2/8006" as showed on the proxmox. but i get:

This site can’t be reached

192.168.100.2 took too long to respond.

Try:
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

how do i fix this ?
do i have to use cable with my main laptop too ?

Hi,

can you ping the Proxmox VE host?
are you sure 192.168.100.2 is a free IP in your network and not some DHCP-reserved range?
Also, what is the IP address of your laptop? Have you checked whether they are really the same network?

You can also log in on the Proxmox VE host directly on the console and check it's network, by running e.g. ip address. You can also post the output if you unsure, a (readable!) photo works too.

Nope when i use ping in cmd on windows I get this:
"ping 192.168.100.2

Pinging 192.168.100.2 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 192.168.100.2:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss)"
so this ip is free.
this is the output of "ip address"

What network is your WiFi/Laptop on?
Is it on the same segment? If not, do you have appropriate routing set up?

same network as the proxmox is connected
i don't know how to find are they on the same segment and its basic tplink router nothing special(home network)

The IP address / netmask of your Laptop would be helpful in determining that.

Also, can you reach your router and/or the internet (e.g. ping 1.1.1.1) from the Proxmox VE host?
