I'm new to ProxMox and virtualization, so please be kind to a newbie........
I just installed ProxMox on a new build on SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O mother board. I mention the board since it also has its own web monitoring interface.
This is also all for home use and testing, and my router is using dhcp for assigning network addresses.
During the proxmox install, it first provides me an IP address of 192.168.100.2 which is strange as my router assigns everything to 192.168.11.xx
I set the proxmox installer to use the IP addresss of 192.168.11.30, After it finishes its install and reboots, it tells me to visit that IP address to enter the web interface.
However, attempts to access that address do not work for me. When I check my router, the IP address is actually 11.43. But when I visit that IP address, I can greeted with the Motherboards SuperMicro web monitoring interface and not proxmox.
Can anyone help a newbie here in getting installed and started correctly?
