Hi,
i am looking for info, if i need stacked switches for our setup.
1] bridged core network 10G - internal network, stacked switches
2] bridged dmz network (due HW firewall) is 1G network, nonstacked switches
If i set VM with dmz network over 1] i can outbuffer 1G links on firewall. That's not good setup. So i have two options via software - use E1000 instead virtio or (if it's possible) change speed via ethtool. I will like to use 10G network stacks for every VM network (i want evade 1G multiple links in favor of the 10G). But if i use E1000, i will limit everything going through this interface even if all communication will be on the same hypervizor.
TL;DR: result is, i need limit network speed to 1G - the best way is on the network interface level (less configuration+errors etc).
What Proxmox staff suggests?
Thanks.
