hi,

The two built-in network cards seems not working.
As far as I know, intel Intel® 82541 should work with e1000 driver.

Please log in and check the following:

dmesg (boot messages)
lspci (list all devices on pci bus)
lspci /n
modprobe e1000 (check the e1000 driver module)

please send the results,
regards,
martin

As far as we know this server has 2 builtin broadcom BCM57xx gbit network cards.

The actual proxmox kernel ist based on debian sarge kernel 2.6.11 and the tg3 driver (necessary for broadcom gbit) is not part of it because of licensing issues.

Details:
The problem is that the tg3 driver in question is not actually distributable,
since it claims the firmware blob is GPLed, but fails to provide the source
code of it. see http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2005/04/msg00047.html

regards,
martin
