Hello! This is my first post and my first experience with Proxmox,

I installed Proxmox on my server but when I tried to make an "apt update" in the shell, it didn't work.
I have searched in this forum and many others but I can't find any solution.
I have already tried to ping 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 but no result.

I think it might be a configuration problem in my Proxmox settings but I'm not sure.
I linked some pictures of my screen for you to take a look.

Thank for your answer. I have follow your link and I have do step by step but nothing work on my system.

I saw that I had no eth0. It's potentially the origin of network problem?

Your PVE-host has the IP: 192.168.1.116, but the gateway is set to: 192.168.100.1.
I guess your gateway is also in the: 192.168.1.0 subnet; probably: 192.168.1.1.
So change it in: /etc/network/interfaces to the correct one and reboot the PVE-host or over the GUI.

I have try to change a gateway in /etc/network/interfaces and I have reboot Proxmox.

I have test the connection with ping 8.8.8.8 and it's not working.
Perhaps is the DNS configuration ?

Yes, your DNS configuration of 127.0.0.1 is most certainly wrong; it should point to an actual DNS server, like 8.8.8.8 for example. But no, the DNS cannot be a problem for ping to an IP address such as 8.8.8.8. It is most likely a routing problem.
Are you running your server at home or within some else's infrastructure? Do you have a router? What is the IP address of your router? What are some of the IP addresses of other computers in your local (or home) network?

After all your posts, I looked at my router settings and saw that the gateway was 192.168.1.254. I put this on my network config in Proxmox and tried to ping 8.8.8.8, result works. I changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Everything is settled after many hours of work!

Thanks for your time and help! I couldn't do it without you

Best Regards
