When I install the backup server on top of PVE, the network interface in the PBS GUI is not detected correctly.
Error: line 8: invalid address/mask '172.23.12.207'

The parser for '/etc/network/interfaces' in proxmox-backup-server is expecting to see the config of address and netmask as cidr in the address line like:
Code:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
    address 172.23.12.207/24
    gateway 172.23.12.1

the form with using explicit netmask became deprecated in debian buster, and we did not want to add legacy parsing for the new product.

I hope this helps!

indeed it does, I fixed it manually.
Maybe it's a good idea, to change it in your other products too ;-)

Cheers,
