I have recognized is that my network speed dropped massive after upgrading to Proxmox 5.

90-100 Mbyte/s download speed with Proxmox 4 and Kernel Linux Proxmox-VE 4.4.134-1-pve (Debian 8.2).

With Proxmox 5 and Linux Proxmox-VE 4.15.18-5-pve (Debian 9.4) I'm receiving not more than 25 Mbyte/sec downloading directly to the host from the same sources as before.

It doesn't matter if I install directly Proxmox over VNC or installing Debian 9 and then Proxmox 5 on top. Tried many ways but the result at the end is always the same. Network speed on the host dropped a lot.

Any ideas? Thanks

Edit: Now reverted back to kernel 4.15.17-3-pve. Speed good again as before.

What kind of NIC does your server have?
