Hi all,
I tried yesterday to make my brand new machine working with proxmox 1.0 but my network card cannot be found.

Motherboard ASUS P5QL PRO network card attansic L1 Ge
I tried to load the driver
modprob atl1 which seemed ok, now the module has been loaded after each reboot, but always the same issue eth0 not found

Can someone give me some help

Thanks

I am not sure, but maybe the 'atl2.ko' module can handle it. Please can you try to load the 'atl2' module manually.

Forget the last suggestion, the atl1 module should work (the alt2 is only for L2 cards)

After searching the network it seems that many people have problems with that card/driver. Also there seem to be a serious bug on systems with more than 4GB RAM. So maybe the easiest solution is to use another network card.

Thanks for reply

Dietmar,

I have tried so many things and I have decided to try another network card like you suggest me.

To avoid wasting more time could you give me some models
known as working.

Thanks

Workin' now :)

Thanks Dietmar,

I have bought a cheap network card with an RTL8139 chipset
and it works now fine.

Suggestion : could it be possible to add a form in the Wiki where users could enter their configuration working or not to help future users to build or buy computers especially for promox VE use.

once more, Really Good job for you and your team !

Regards

Seems like this driver was excluded from 2.6.32 kernel? Network card isn't working after switching to this kernel.
