I'm running PBS on an older NUC with a single SSD. I'm going to upgrade the SSD to a bigger size in order to retain more backups.
Is there a simple way to backup and restore the PBS config in order to do the upgrade after I re-install PBS?

Just "dd" the old disk to the new, larger one.

Then readjust the partition table and the filesystem. This should work for all filesystems; you did not tell us what you use. You'll find instructions "on the web"...

Bonus: keep the old disk - it is a great secondary backup of the old state :-)

My NUC only has a single SSD slot (mSata) would I need to clone it to a external drive/USB in this case? Everything I'm seeing is cloning directly to the new drive which is not possible.

Yes. There are cheap USB-to-SATA Adapters, starting at 6.- €/$.

In the first post you said "I'm going to upgrade the SSD", so I assumed SATA. Anyway..., there are USB-to-M.2-NVMe starting at 14.,- €/$. "mSATA" seems to be different though...

Yeah mSata is an older standard, like I said an older NUC. Took a look at Clonezilla and I will likely try that route and clone to my NAS.
