Hello, I need some advice on a build i,m planning. Today I have two proxmox nodes with xeon E3-1231 and 16gb ram.
I work with IT and there has recently been an upgrade on the equipment leaving a lot for us in the IT department
So, I have gotten a hold of a Supermicro chassi with 3 gbp/s backplane, a Xeon E5-2643 4 core 3.3ghz I am going to purchase a ATX or matx motherboard and RAM to that.
I have also got a hold of some 4gb Fibre Channel cards and here is the plan I'm trying to build.
I want to use the supermicro chassi as a SAN and directly connect the two nodes to that. I have a couple of raid cards so I want to use them on the backplane. Can I run Proxmox on all the nodes and if a can, what software to act as FC-Switch on the SAN??
Or, should I just install win server 2016 or 2012 (can get licenses) I have looked at hyperV virtual-SAN switch..
So, any advice??
