I just set up a 5TB volume on an equallogic 6510 and connected to it via proxmox with isci. The disk shows up in proxmox, however the size is N/A and I am unable to create anything on it. Any ideas on where to look for the issue?
I think I figured it out. I am used to admining xenserver where you can present an iscsi target, and then xenserver can carve that target up into disks. With proxmox it seems you need to present individual disks to build your vms on.
Sure, thats one way to do it - use individual iscsi disk per VM as raw storage. Thats how Blockbridge works at a high level.
You could also use one large LUN, place an LVM or file system and share it between multiple VMs on the same host. If you wanted to have shared storage between hosts its a bit more involved with various restrictions.
