Need help with 10gbps SFP PCI card

I recently upgraded my home fiber to 10gbps symmetric. I have mostly ubiquiti gear, and picked up their 10gbps aggregation switch. I took my existing Proxmox server, with a built in 1gbe RJ45 on the motherboard, and added a 10Gb SFP PCI-e Network Card, 82599(X520-DA1) into it, and connected it to my switch using a SFP to SFP cable. Once it boots, I can see the root login prompt on a monitor, but the web server is no longer up or accessible. Any ideas on what I need to change to make this work? I tried ssh'ing into the machine, but it doesn't seem to let me do that either. So it's almost like the network isn't online, even though it's at the root prompt.

Any guidance on maybe what to do to help debug this would be appreciated.

Hi,

most likely the interface names changed due to the addition of the new PCIe cards, which is (unfortunately) common at least on consumer hardware.

Since you can log in physically, you'll need to compare the actual link names from e.g. ip address and update them accordingly in /etc/network/interfaces. There are lots of threads already on this topic, which might go into more detail.
