Today the management of my proxmox machine has died!!!! and I need help. I cannot access my management GUI or SSH into my server. VM's are running OK. I can only get to the machine VIA physical terminal.
My setup is
Ethernet port 1 is the original Linux bridge that was setup for proxmox managment. Backups, SSH, GUI everything.
Ethernet 2 and 3 are bonded and connect to a VSwitch. All my VMs run on 2 and 3 and they are OK.
Last night I pushed several hundred gigs through Ethernet port 1 as I was adding more machines to the proxmox box. Everything went well, and the machines were transferred and started.
Today I was going to do some more work and tried to access t he GUI and couldn't, tried to ping my machine and couldn't. I freaked. But I could still ping the VMs running on the machine. VMs are happy.
What could have happened overnight that made the linux bridge stop working???????
What I've done.
I have restarted the machine,
I have tried a different NIC,
I have tried a different physical switch.
I have narrowed it down to my config in some form . . . . . .
I can see the NIC attached to the bridge is now dropping packets?????
Any idea on how to move the management of Promox to bridge1 to bridge2?
Any idea on what went wrong with my bridge?
Any thoughts on what to look at from here? I'm lost.
