Hello Everyone,
I'm having some difficultly with multicast in proxmox. I'm attempting to trail a new phone system and the guest needs to see multicast transmissions on the LAN to see the phones.
Testing:
Wireshark on a LAN connected PC: Shows SIP multicast
Wireshark on VMBR1 (LAN) guest: Shows no multicast of any kind.
Running a Hyper-V guest: Multicast visible, phones can be assigned.
Running Proxmox Virtual Environment 4.2-2/725d76f0 (AT HOME OFFICE): Multicast visible, phones can be assigned.
At the office I've tried two completely different servers running different versions of Proxmox, even tried in on different servers on our cluster, same problem: no multicast to the guests.
Current test box:
Virtual Environment 4.3-1/e7cdc16
Current production cluster:
Virtual Environment 3.4-6/102d4547
This is difficult to pinpoint...
1. Due to the fact that multicast appears to work fine on my personal proxmox hypervisor.
2. Hyper-V hosted guest connected to the SAME network as our proxmox hypervisors see multicast. This suggests the issue is not related to the switches in our office. The network is flat, /24 no routes to worry about either...
Any advise or ideas?
