Multipath and Storage

Good afternoon, I have a cluster with 5 proxmox servers, I have a 10TB iscsi storage,
If I mount the storage with multipath, is it possible to use this same storage in a shared way in the next 5 months?
I can use it in a shared way to migrate VMs and so on,
Would it be a good practice?
What is the best scenario for this implementation?

Yes, you can use the iSCSI as shared storage with or without multipath. Although if you have actual multiple paths - you must use multipath.
I am not sure why the 5 months timeframe. You can do it today or in 5 months.

Yes

Make sure that there is no single point of failure end-to-end.

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback.
I would like to check if I can mount the storage in my environment and make this storage shared.
Because I was unsure if it would work as it would be the same name as the storage and I would like to know if the Vm's would work correctly.

Hi @pvpaulo , respectively, we dont know anything about your environment and cant answer this question.

Frankly, I dont understand your concern here. Perhaps you can expand this with a specific example and command line output.

Best,

Basically I have a cluster of 5 proxmox machines and 1 iscsi storage mounted on all nodes.
I would like to know if it is possible to use the same storage for all nodes and if it is possible to use, for example, HA so that the VM's can go up on another node if node 01 dies, it goes up and moves the VMs to node 02 automatically

Yes, its possible. Thats the most basic use-case for shared storage, which iSCSI can be used for. Thousands of people use PVE with iSCSI right now.
