So, I recently broke my server and the grub is beyond repair, i tried fixing with a live cd and no use, so I put the HDD in a linux machine and now have the vms backed up onto an external drive, but I cant figure out how to now reinstall them back onto my server, the files are saved into folders and not partitions so im a bit lost anyone know how to fix my issue?

hi,

if you have the backup files on your HDD, you can attach it to another PVE server and use the restore [0] function to import the backup archives again.

if you'd like to use the GUI, you can add your HDD as a storage unit for your node, and from there you should be able to see the backup files on the GUI.

hope this helps!
