Moving from VMware to Proxmox using Shadow Protect.

I'm working on two projects - moving a Windows 2003 and Suse 11 Linux server running under VMware ESXi and moving six Windows 2003 servers, each in own RAID 5 Dell server to one RAID 5 (or RAID 1 mirror IDE) under Proxmox.

My problem is that the VMware server can make an image of the Windows 2003 VMware server, but only (I think) to an external drive formated as a VWware container. Suggestions? The only thing I can think of is doing a over the network restore from a VWmare share with the image.

I plan to image the offline physical Dell Windows servers to external SATA drives and then install Proxmox and open each VE W2003 instance in sequence. I assume each runner VE will see the external SATA when booted into the W2003 environment, and then boot from the CD Shadow Protect restore disk which will restore from the eSATA to the VE. I can do a local restore of each image to the VE and bring them to life. Any comments and pitfalls about doing this?

As Shadow Protect doesn't image Linux, what's the best way to move the Suse 11 to a VE instance?
