Is there a way to transfer backups between namespaces? Initially, we started using PBS before the namespace (NS) feature was available, which resulted in all our backups being saved in the "root". Since then, we've been organizing our backups into separate namespaces, each with its specific use, schedule, configurations, etc. We'd like to move the backups from the "root" to their appropriate namespaces without losing any data. Can this be done?

The most idiomatic way would be to set up a "Remote Sync" job to the local PBS instance itself. Then you can sync between the NS and also filter which groups should be synced.
Since the actual chunks are already there, only the metadata of the backups needs to be synced -> should be done very quickly. Once done, you can then remove the backups from the root NS.
