Hello everyone,
I have two PVE servers: one old version 4.4 and a brand new one version 8.3. How can I move a virtual machine from the old PVE to the new one? The two servers are on the same network, and I can connect the new server to the same NAS used by the old one. Thank you.

What I do is I connect the same NFS share to all of my Proxmox machines. Then I do a backup to the NFS share and shut down the VM. I can then restore on another machine and restart the VM there. The only potential issue I see is that I keep all of my Proxmox hosts on the same version. I am not sure how moving from 4.4 to 8.3 would work.

Sorry, I’m not very familiar with abbreviated terms, but what do you mean by SCP?
I'm guessing that this is a reply to my post? scp is a command to copy files via ssh (the orange works are hyper-links to more documentation).
So, I can simply retrieve the backup that is done daily?
Sure. I do believe it is that simple.
Is the backup file contained in the vzdump_xxxxxx_vma.izo file?
Yes, assuming that you created that file by running a backup of the VM from Proxmox.

Yes, it seems to be working, and it is restoring the virtual machine on the new Proxmox using the file from the same path on the NAS via NFS. Let's see when it finishes if the machine works. Thank you for the assistance.
