Hi Guys
I run proxmox server since 2 months on a hetzner root server and I'm very happy with it. I created 2 VMs and one of these VMs include a SSL certificate for owncloud.
I plan to do the following:
- Copy / Move both VMs to a backup place
- Re-Install the Hardware server but not with Proxmox kernel. I instead use ISPConfig with Virtualisation
- Copy / Move back the VMs and use it with ISPConfig virtualisation
For backup my VMs on the "old" server and restore on the "new" server I will use vzdump.
My question now is:
My owncloud VM uses a SSL vertification. The Mac Address, IP address and the Host Name of the VM and the VM container itself won't change. So when I move the VM than to the new Hardware Server am I still able to use the installed certificate? Or do I need to buy / install a new one?
Best Regards
