I have 2 sd cards I use for storage (SDC & SDD). Most of my isos are located on SDD.
Using the mv command I move an iso (kali*.*) from SDD to SDC. At this point everything looks fine.
The files are in the right dirs and show up in the correct place in the gui.
However when I start the vm it throws this error ERROR: volume 'SDD:iso/kali-linux-2024.2-installer-amd64.iso' does not exist.
It's still looking in the old dir.
What gives??

You probably need to edit the config file. In the future you can use the web gui to move from one disk to the other.

This is my storage.cfg.
root@pve:/etc/pve# more storage.cfg
dir: local
path /var/lib/vz
content iso,backup,vztmpl

lvmthin: local-lvm
thinpool data
vgname pve
content rootdir,images

dir: SDB
path /mnt/pve/SDB
content snippets,images,iso,backup,rootdir,vztmpl
is_mountpoint 1
nodes pve

dir: SDD
path /mnt/pve/SDD
content vztmpl,rootdir,backup,iso,images,snippets
is_mountpoint 1
nodes pve

dir: SDC-ISO
path /mnt/pve/SDC
content backup,iso,images

How would I edit this?

Moving an ISO does not change the VM configuration automatically. Edit the VM configuration and chose the new ISO (since it moved) again for the CD/DVD Drive.
