I have three NFS share that I created in TrueNAS to share with Proxmox however I have added two of them in the datacenter storage which added ok with no problem and is in full usage. However I have one share that I would like to mount directly into the VM which it does but when I try to access it using ls -l I get permission denied. I did the following command to add the NFS share mount 172.16.20.200:/mnt/rusty/owt /mnt/nfs/owt

Check the settings of the share in truenas and in the fstab on the vm. It seems that you are using the wrong user to access the NFS share or didn't give the share the permission to be mounted from your vm ip

@Johannes S is correct, the permission denied is coming from your NFS server, i.e. TrueNAS. You should carefully review and compare the settings on each share. You can also login to TrueNAS and examine the corresponding paths locally for any "whacky" permissions.

Good luck
