Monitor Data Transfer

Hello,

We want to monitor the data transfer of the VMs created in Proxmox. The current Proxmox GUI shows only the bandwidth consumption, but it does not show the actual the data transfer. We can check it by setting up MRTG but one of our customers has disabled SNMP on his VM and he wants the data transfer to be monitored. He is not ready to enable SNMP on the VM. Is there any way to calculate the data transfer from the bandwidth data that Proxmox displays for the VMs?

/nodes/<NODENAME>/qemu/<VMID>/status/current

there is a 'netin' and 'netout' field for every nic and the vm as a whole
this gets reset when the vm stops, or the nic device is removed/added (e.g. hotplugged)
i currently do not know if this is reset at different times, but i guess this is what you want?
