Hi all,
I am struggling to decide for the right MB for my new proxmox setup:
My use case/ requirements are pretty general - nothing too special:
What is more important in the end, more cores or more power per core?
Option 1: Supermicro A2SDi-16C-HLN4F (Intel Atom C3955)
Option 2: Supermicro X10SDV-6C+-TLN4F (Intel Xeon D-1528)
Thanks for any hint!
Jeschke
I am struggling to decide for the right MB for my new proxmox setup:
My use case/ requirements are pretty general - nothing too special:
- 5-10 VM's (NAS, Nextcloud, testing/development)
- 5-10 CT's (PiHole, Reverse Proxy, Webservers etc)
- low TDP
- use case will not significaly change within the next 5y
- 6x SATA should be fine and 10GbE won't be too important the next years...
What is more important in the end, more cores or more power per core?
Option 1: Supermicro A2SDi-16C-HLN4F (Intel Atom C3955)
- 16 Cores /16 Threads
- cpubenchmark ~6500
- 32W TDP
- 12x SATA
- 4x NIC
- IPMI
Option 2: Supermicro X10SDV-6C+-TLN4F (Intel Xeon D-1528)
- 6 Cores / 12 Threads
- cpubenchmark 8210
- 35W TDP
- 6x SATA
- 4x NIC (2x 10GbE)
- IPMI
Thanks for any hint!
