I have tried installing Proxmox a few times on this system and it keeps hanging on "create LVs". I've even let it sit for 45 min as seen in other posts (they said 20-30min), the installer restarted itself at this point. I am able to install other linux distros and even VMWare ESXi without issue, so I doubt it is a hardware, bios, or user error. Anyone have any insight on this as I can only find info related to the Intel versions which do not apply here as the bios settings are different in Intel and AMD versions.

Oh, this is with the proxmox-ve_9.1-1.iso image.

Thanks

When I was installing on my UM790Pro, I remember I faced a similar situation and the non GUI option did it.
I hope you ensured that you enabled virtualization in the BIOS as well.

Did you also try the non-graphical installation mode?

Non graphical version hangs as well.

Yes, virtualization is enabled. As I mentioned, I have VMWare ESXi up and running with no issues. Had several VMs and containers running on it. I keep hearing that Proxmox is great, so far, not impressed.

Can you please check on the Minisforum forums? I have seen even on YT videos people installing Proxmox on that hardware. I wish I could afford it.

I have, that's why I'm here. Been doing IT for 30 years. I do a lot before I ask for help. There are a few different versions, even this particular model can come with two different CPUs. The only info or videos I can find are related to the Intel versions of the MS-xx series PCs. Was hoping the people actually using the software might have some insight. As for not being able to afford it, I just happened to get this one just before all the memory price hikes, so it wasn't too bad. It came with 64GB of RAM, but I wanted to get a 128GB kit for it, but I'm not paying almost what I paid for this unit just for RAM. That will have to wait for sanity to return to the market.

Oops! I have been in IT for 29 years. Almost as long as you ;-)
Anyway, let me just say I have been so keen on the Minisforum brand for as long as I can remember. I landed my UM790Pro a few months before hell broke lose with RAM and storage chips.
I have seen that issue about different CPUs, but I thought Minisforum could help address this.

I'll certainly check, but nothing came up in my searches. Heck, I've even asked all knowing AIs and they keep giving me info for the wrong models.
