Hi.
I have a single host with pve 6.1.3. The server has 2 SSD drives as the root disk. The disks work on zfs in the raid1 option. One of the drives has failed and the entire zfs pool is degraded. I bought 2 new disks and I'm wondering if it's better to replace these 2 disks with new ones and install PVE 8. Of course, I will make full copies of the virtual machines on the SMB share first. Shouldn't there be a problem recovering virtual machines from pve 6 to pve 8?
Is it better to replace a damaged drive?

If you have adequate backups, save yourself the trouble of upgrading and do a fresh install right to PVE 8.x

You should upgrade to PVE8 anyway. Your PVE6.1 already got 4 years of unpatched bugs and critical vulnerabilities. You should take security more serious and do your upgrades. Looks like you never did any upgrades as you aren't even on the latest PVE6.4 version (which is End-of-Life since september 2022, so even PVE6.4 would have 1,5 years of unpatched vulnerabilities and bugs).
