I'm considering (leaning heavily toward) migrating to Proxmox. My current environment has been up and running since ~2018. My Hypervisor is XenProject. Over the years, I've automated numerous tasks. However, with increasing frequency, I'm experiencing frustration with XenProject in the form of design-context-imposed limitations. KVM and related child implementations appear to be much more flexible and resilient.
All of that said, based on available documentation, the migration of existing VMs seems problematic. My VM backups are robust, and I could easily recover guests to another host of lower specs if needed. The question then is: Is it worth the time to migrate, or is it better to rebuild the guests natively?
