Migration of bitlocker encrypted VM vom ESXi 6.5 to Proxmox

I'm planning to migrate my Windows Server 2019 VM from ESXi to Proxmox. While the system disk (C is unencrypted, the data disks are bitlocker encrypted. Is it necessary or advisable to deactivate bitlocker encryption during the migration process? Is there a difference regarding bitlocker deactivation in the ovftool-migration-method and the built in (proxmox 8.2) migration method?

The migration tools read raw blocks of the source disk, they don't care about and don't understand the data in those blocks.

Sure, I'd give it a try. The disk context should be identical on the target side. There may be other technical issues when you attempt to start the VM, dependencies on TPM context, for example.
