Migration from OpenVZ to KVM

Hi,

From the looks of discussions here, the different kernels, and the uncertainty around OpenVZ, it appears to me that going forward, KVM will be the best technology to use for my VMs. I really like the OpenVZ format and how quick and easy it is to set up a new VM using OpenVZ. However, going forward, if OpenVZ won't be supported, or if I need to run a less stable or feature rich Proxmox kernel, I don't want to be "surprised" by having to move all my OpenVZ machines to KVM suddenly. I'd rather start planning for that now, and begin the migration slowly so that it's ready when/if OpenVZ support ends.

So, that said, is there a tutorial of how to convert OpenVZ machines to KVM? I've seen the instructions of how to migrate from other VM-types to Proxmox (http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Migration_of_servers_to_Proxmox_VE), but I can't find any info on going from OpenVZ to KVM. Do I have to rebuild and configure each machine from scratch?

Lastly, in the future, are there plans around providing KVM templates similar to the OpenVZ templates available.

Thx.

The OpenVZ team already announced that they will port it to 2.6.32 soon - so there is no reason to hesitate ;-)
