Before I finish shooting myself in the foot, I figured I would ask. I recently stood up a PVE 3.0 box on new hardware, and retired one of my older boxes. So I was left with an up-to-date 2.3 box and a 3.0 box.
Well, due to some maintenance, I need to temporarily migrate all of the containers from the 3.0 to the 2.3 box. But the first one I tried failed almost immediately. It did not migrate the files in /var/lib/vz/private or /var/lib/vz/root. So I am manually copying them over, but I have a couple of questions.
1. Is this a limitation/difference between 2.3 and 3.0 that you can only migrate older -> newer?
2. Would it be a better to upgrade the 2.3 box before trying to migrate? (actually, since I'm going to be migrating off of this, I'd rather not go through the upgrade process on this hardware.)
Thanks,
